WHAT'S IN YOUR WALLS?

There are no secrets here because we love talking about what is in our walls!!

BUILDING BETTER HOMES

Being we are in the business of #buildingbetterhomes we are always looking for affordable ways to make our homes more energy efficient and with spray foam insulation we have been able to accomplish just that!

WHAT IS SPRAY FOAM INSULATION

Also known as Spray Polyurethane Foam (SPF), spray foam is insulation that is sprayed on rather blown in or installed by hand. The benefit of this spray applied plastic is that it forms a continuous barrier reducing the home's energy loss through air leaks. If the 113 million single family homes in the United States used SPF, Americans could save up to $33 billion dollars in energy cost each year (1).

THINGS TO KNOW

During the application process, do not enter the residence as the off-gassing during the curing cycle is harmful until completely dry. It is recommended a home or building be vacant for a minimum of 24 hours in order to fully dry. Once dry, the chemical reaction that created the off-gassing is complete and the home is safe to enter.

Once the spray foam has been completed, moving walls, HVAC ducting and electrical is very hard and sometimes impossible therefore it is of upmost importance to have all items in the correct location prior to the beginning of the insulation process.

Since SPF acts as an air barrier, preventing air leaks in and out of the walls, we also install air exchangers in all our homes to make sure all our clients are breathing the best air possible all year round!
